Africa, the late nineteenth century, a guide (Anonymous character played by Cornel Wilde) leads a safari in search of elephants for ivory trafficking. After meeting with a tribe, the guide advised to pay a tribute to the warriors of it as a symbol of friendship and respect, but the arrogant leader of the expedition hunter, who heads the group, refuses to do so, offending tribe. As a result, members of the safari are imprisoned and killed in horrible ways except guide for being the only one who showed respect for the traditions will have an opportunity to get out alive if he manages to escape from the hunters of the tribe through the jungle .
Fright "or death?, Conas addition, a text that talks did not occupy more than half a dozen pages (nominated for an Oscar in 1966 for best original screenplay and soundtrack) offers a great adventure and suspense film. Cornel Wilde actor and director before he was a sportsman (fencing) and showed that the 50 blocks it could run a marathon South African hellish jungle, also showed great skill behind the camera included inserts for local fauna to the National Geographic and rolled deaths (original and sinister at the time) of the expedition documentary style. Wilde emerged victorious from the mixture of styles and gave the result of personality.
The Naked Prey (The Naked Prey) is a cult that anticipates one of my "gender" favorites: the manhunt, a movie whose influence has survived over the years and has produced offspring which stands among the reviled today's Apocalypto excellent (for an extra-cinematic) Mel Gibson.
